It is amazing how time flies! It seems like just yesterday my book on Applied Architecture Patterns hit the shelves, but that was almost a year and a half ago now.
A few months ago, a new BizTalk patterns book written by fellow BizTalk MVP Dan Rosanova has been released. It is called Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 Patterns published by Packet Publishing.
What separates this book from other BizTalk books is it covers both BizTalk Basics & Patterns and a detailed overview of a real-life BizTalk Solution.
This book is available from Packet and Amazon. Currently, the Amazon Kindle version is available for around $18. This will be the best $18 you spend toward bettering your BizTalk knowledge!
Thanks to Packet Publishing I have a few copies of the book to give away!
This week I am going to give away a copy to a random comment on this blog post. Simply post a comment below (make sure you are a registered BizTalkGurus.com user or you include your email address so I can contact you if you win) about a BizTalk Pattern you use today or about Why You Need To Learn About BizTalk Patterns. I will pick a random winner from all comments received before the end of the day on Wednesday February 8th Central Time.
I will cover shipping of the book to any address the USPS delivers to worldwide.
If you do not win this time, watch for more upcoming ways to win!
This book is just what I was waiting for!
seems like a great book on my favorite subject.
At my organization, we have been using BizTalk primarily as a translator of HIPAA X12 files. The scope of BizTalk has been very limited. However, recently we were acquired by a much larger company and we now have a lot more money to invest in our BizTalk infrastructure. We plan to use BizTalk at the core of our business, actually as the ESB for which it was intended. I am currently the only person that knows anything about BizTalk within our organization and this book would help me immensely to architect large-scale BizTalk applications.
Thanks for the offer!
Based on the sample chapter, this is appears to be a book that will help immensely.
I need this book…. 🙂
Having previsouly read Richard Seroter’s SOA Patterns with BizTalk 2009, I think this book would provide a further development of my understanding of BizTalk patterns with the updated 2010 version of the platform.
learning patterns and practices from proven experts is always a plus in our field where we need to catch up to an ever changing world. i just dig learning patterns and would love to get my hands on such a book

I’ve just brought my BizTalk skills to a new organization. Having some patterns to help reign in our existing chaos would be wonderful.
Integration patterns provides standard ways to design solutions to complex problems.
It is always helpful to design a solution using the standard patterns , which gives more meaning to the solution. I have been reading books on enterprise integration patterns and they always helps me. I am very much that after reading this book , it will help me a lot while approaching to complex design issues on BizTalk 2010 projects.
A must read for BizTalk designers/developers.
I am just starting to do BizTalk development and this book looks like a good resource to have.
