About Me

I started my career with both a Chemical Engineering degree and a Technical Entrepreneurial Certificate from the University of Iowa in 1998. I worked in the paper industry for one year. At the same time, I ran an online collectibles business and began to realize my passion was technology. I sold my business in 2000 and went to work for a Big-5 consulting firm. This brought me down the path to become an industry expert in Enterprise Integration using Microsoft Technologies.

Since 2004, I have been an independent consultant specializing in Microsoft-based Integration Solitons.  I started off working with BizTalk Server and now I focus on Azure Hybrid Integration solutions.  This includes working with Microsoft BizTalk Server, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and other Microsoft technologies.

Since 2005, I have been recognized as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in BizTalk Server / Microsoft Integration / Azure.

I run the BizTalk community site BizTalkGurus.com and AzureIntegrationGurus.com. These sites offer numerous BizTalk and Azure samples, how-to videos, and user forums. I have presented at several Microsoft TechEd events, multiple Service Oriented Architecture Conferences, various user groups, and almost all of the Integration Conferences throughout the world. I am an author with Pluralsight and currently have eight courses available online covering both BizTalk Server and Azure Logic Apps.

I am a proven initiator, published author, conference presenter, problem solver, and troubleshooter with a flair for identifying, taking ownership of, and solving complex problems.
