About Stephen W. Thomas
I began my career building enterprise integration systems long before cloud and AI were mainstream. 19 years hands on with BizTalk Server, from 2001 through 2020, taught me what actually matters in production: reliability, scalability, and systems that deliver real business value.
As Microsoft's platform evolved, I led modernization efforts using Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps Standard, Azure Service Bus, and Azure API Management, moving organizations from legacy BizTalk environments to cloud native architectures. I stayed hands on throughout: architecting solutions, building them myself, and guiding teams through real production delivery rather than proofs of concept.
Today my focus is enterprise Azure integration combined with agentic AI. I help organizations move past AI experimentation and into production ready solutions that create measurable business outcomes.
I have been a Microsoft MVP since 2003, and I support the community through conference speaking, hands on training, and technical YouTube content.
I reduce complexity, modernize critical systems, and help teams deliver with confidence.
Speaking
I have presented at conferences and user groups across North America and Europe, including Microsoft TechEd in the United States and Europe, Integrate in London, and community events in Sweden and elsewhere.
Publishing and Training
I have authored eight Pluralsight courses, including courses on Azure Logic Apps, Azure messaging, and BizTalk Server. You can see the course history on my Pluralsight author profile. The listed courses are now marked retired.
I have published with Packt Publishing and served as a technical reviewer for titles from other publishers. On YouTube at @StephenWThomas, I share practical tutorials on Azure, AI, and Microsoft developer tools.
